Triclamec Ultra Pour-On TRICLAMEC-PO Vetsense

Description

Triclamec Ultra Pour-On

Active Ingredients: Abamectin @ 5g/L & Triclabendazole @ 300g/L

Similar or comparable to Avomec Plus Cattle Pour-On (Boehringer Ingelheim)

Triclamec Ultra Pour-On is a comprehensive parasiticide for cattle, designed to target roundworms, external parasites, and all three stages of liver fluke. Specifically, it harnesses the power of Abamectin, a member of the macrocyclic lactone family, to ensure effectiveness against sensitive strains of internal and external parasites. Additionally, it contains Triclabendazole (benzimidazole family), which is uniquely effective against liver fluke at the early immature, immature, and adult stages.

Consequently, pour-on drenches combining these dual active ingredients have become a cornerstone of parasite management for Australian producers. This popularity stems from a powerful combination of broad-spectrum efficacy, specific targeting of economically significant liver fluke, and a user-friendly application method perfectly suited to Australian farming systems.

Indications: What does Triclamec Ultra Pour-On Treat?

Primarily, Triclamec is indicated for the treatment and control of both adult and immature stages of:

  • Gastro-intestinal roundworms: Including Barber’s Pole Worm, Small Brown Stomach Worm (including inhibited stages), Small Intestinal Worm, Stomach Hair Worm, Hookworm, Large Bowel Worm, Whipworm, Thin-Necked Intestinal Worm, and Intestinal Threadworm.

  • Lungworm: (Dictyocaulus viviparus)

  • Liver Fluke: (Fasciola hepatica) including adult (12-week), immature (6-week), and early immature (4-week) larvae.

  • Sucking and Biting Lice: Including Long-Nosed, Short-Nosed, Biting, and Little Sucking Lice.

Furthermore, it aids in the control of:

  • Buffalo Fly (Haematobia irritans exigua)

  • Cattle Tick (Boophilus microplus) (Note: Not recommended for strategic dipping programs).

Why choose Triclamec Ultra Pour-On?

  • Dual Action: Combines Abamectin and Triclabendazole for improved efficacy.

  • Complete Fluke Control: Triclabendazole treats early-immature, immature, and mature stages of Liver Fluke.

  • Bonus Protection: Aids in the control of Cattle Tick, Lice, and Buffalo Fly.

  • Broad Spectrum: Delivers control against both immature and adult worms.

The Importance of Combination Drenches like Triclamec Ultra Pour-On

Why are products like Triclamec Ultra Pour-On vital for Australian cattle producers?

Essentially, the combination of two active ingredients in a single pour-on offers a convenient solution to complex parasite burdens. Key benefits include:

Comprehensive Parasite Control: The dual-action targets the most economically detrimental parasites in a single treatment. As a result, this simplifies management programs and reduces the need for multiple applications.

Targeted Liver Fluke Treatment: Because it includes Triclabendazole, this product provides a specific weapon against parasites not controlled by other broad-spectrum drenches—a feature that is particularly vital in fluke-endemic areas.

Ease of Application: The pour-on method reduces stress for both the animal and operator. Moreover, it is quicker and safer than oral drenching or injections, offering a significant advantage when handling large numbers of cattle.

Improved Welfare and Productivity: By effectively controlling parasites, these drenches contribute to better health. This directly translates to enhanced productivity through weight gains, improved feed conversion, and reduced production losses.

Strategic Use & Best Practices

Although pour-on drenches like Triclamec Ultra are valuable tools, it remains crucial to use them as part of an integrated parasite management strategy. Ideally, this should include strategic drench timing, pasture management to reduce larval contamination, and regular efficacy monitoring to combat anthelmintic resistance.

Therefore, consulting with a veterinarian or animal health advisor is always recommended to ensure the responsible use of these products.
